STORY TAGLINE

An impulsive slacker and a group of neurotic robots try to survive and remain on speaking terms in an unpredictable universe full of freakishly evolved Artificial Intelligence.

The Project

SPAREPARTS is a collaboration between Designers Jimmy Mansuo Zhang, Liam Qunxiang Lim, Niancao Yang and Screenwriters Ben Rawson-Jones, Demetri Johnstone, Eduardo Barreto, Ellen Mehrer, and Emma Strachan. The project consists of two parts: Character designs+Scene Illustrations and Screenwriting. Designers created the characters and illustrations based on brief provided by Screenwriters.

ROBIN JOHNSON

Robin detests Charlie, who doesn’t get her. Her human way of thinking is a priceless commodity in the 43rd Century

CHARLIE

Completely oblivious to Monroe’s crush on him. Navigates the ship – he likes being in control. Or believing he is.

FIXER

Scared of conflict – he’s in the wrong place. Releases stress through the medium of dance. A keen but clumsy mechanic who can cobble almost anything together with disastrous results.

MONROE

A follower not a leader - and attached to Robin. A computer genius who would much rather be smelling flowers than dealing with algorithms. Curious about sex. Too curious.

TOASTIE

He’ll hump anything that moves.
Keen to chew on Robin’s enemies. Especially Charlie.
His bite is a lot worse than his bark.
Like any male dog, he licks his nuts.
But not his bolt.

BINAR

A small wannabe supervillain evolved from a vacuum cleaner. Napoleon Complex isn’t just for humans! Travels around on a flying dish as he thinks it’s cool. He refuses to use a human name. The fact others call him Binar really pisses him off.
Thinks excessive alliteration makes him sound smart. It doesn’t.
